Slightly Annoyed
I have been trying, for the past week, to have some new paintings published. They are rejected over an over again for not being "INGAME" previews. So what's the problem, right? Take some "INGAME" snapshots and update the uploads. The problems is that they ARE "INGAME" screenshots. I'm being, I don't want to say punished because that's not quite the right word, but I'll use it anyway, punished for cropping the paintings so that all you see is the painting. It's very what you see is what you get. No ugly white wall background. No furniture to distract the viewer from what I'm truly offering. Just a painting. The only thing I can figure with these is that I used "Pineapple" as the painting to recolor, and they don't really provide much as far as a frame goes, so some might mistake that as being the image I used to create, and not the image of the object in the game. It's really frustrating to have to resubmit things over and over again that are in the right format and have no way to really defend myself. There should be a link or something that says "If you've received this message in error..." or something, so I can explain what they're seeing in the snapshot.I really don't want to have to start taking ugly pictures just so that I can prove that my pictures truly are "INGAME" screen shots.
How Do I Create Walls/Floors/Bedding etc.
I get private messages on a regular basis on how I created walls/floors etc. I do my best to answer each and every message I get, and in a timely matter. To those of you waiting for a response (and I'm pretty sure I've answered everyone at the moment), I realize that you are eager to get started on creating your own items, but my schedule is a full one. Between homeschooling the kids, household chores and errands, doctor's appointments, and having a little time to myself for reading/writing/creating new Sims content, I'm really sort of stretched to the max.Don't get me wrong, I enjoy helping those who ask for my help, and will continue to help anyone that asks for it. I just want to let you all know that it may take a little while to get back to everyone.
Let me also point out that while you wait, please take a moment to check out the tutorials here at TSR. Many artists here have taken time to help aid you in creating your own custom content, and through their expertise, have managed to come up with some great tutorials. I have yet to look at any of the HomeCrafter tutorials, but if they're anything like the others that I have had to pleasure to read through, they will be very informative and easy to follow.
I'm STUPID!
I was cleaning off unwanted things off of my desktop today and managed to delete the folder that contained all of my sponging walls sets. I had 18 sets in all, and I think I had uploaded all but 5 or 6. I am so incredibly bummed. At this point, I'm not going to try to figure out which ones are missing. Especially since I'm in the middle of something new. I may try to redo them some time in the future, but as of right now they are not priority.Lifestyles Collection Super Set
I'm currently working on a new wall set. It currently contains 54 new paint colors, and with each of those new colors, I've added new mouldings that I've been working very hard on.I may have gotten a little bit carried away, but I ended up liking it so much that I just wound up with a ton of new walls. Not to worry, though. They'll all be put in sets so that you're not having to download each one individually.
I'll also be uploading the matching carpets to go with them. :)
New Decorative Items
I have grown a bit bored with my current selection of "decoration" objects and have gone a little crazy with the creation of some new items to aid your most interior decorating challenged Sims.I like being able to change the feel of a room by just throwing down an area rug, and for that reason I have a couple hundred new ones that will be uploaded over the next few weeks. (I know that sounds like overkill, but I'm sure that there will be at least ONE design that will suit everyone's taste.)
I also like to spruce up my walls with a simple painting, and you've guessed it, I've got a ton of those coming out soon as well. :)
I'll also continue my journey in wall making during all of this, so I'll be very busy over the next few weeks.
I hope you enjoy the new content, and Happy Simming!
Why so many colors?
I get a lot of questions about why I make so many "painted" walls and why I feel the need to make so many variations of the same wall. The answer is really quite simple. I'm a wall-aholic. I get bored very easily and like to change the designs of my houses often. Making as many walls as I do provides me with not having to use the same walls in any one house even if I've re-designed more than once. Why upload them here? I like to share. I went through a period of not uploading every single wall I'd made for myself because there were so many, but then got requests from people to upload them based on what they'd seen in my houses.
I've recently been asked to not share so many of my creations because a certain person grew tired of scrolling through all the walls. To this particular person I'd like to say this:
I will continue to upload every creation I see fit to share. If I can provide at least one person, other than myself, something to add a little more enjoyment to their game, then I feel I've done a good job. If scrolling through my items irritates you, I'm sorry. You're not required to do so. As soon as you see my work, skip to the next page and there you will find new content, but I will not stop sharing with those who do like what I provide on the complaint of "you make too many".
Happy Halloween
Due to the amount of time homeschooling my children takes, I haven't had time to really work on anything for the Sims in a while.Today is a "half-day", so I'll take some time to create a few new walls and floors for everyone while the kids watch Garfield Halloween, or something. I may even get the chance to turn the game on and build a house or two! :)
A Mad Rush of Uploads
I'm getting a new computer. YAY! I don't, however, want to spend hours upon hours trying to pull stuff over from my old computer to my new computer, so in a mad rush to clean up my old computer, I've decided to start uploading everything that I've finished and that has just been sitting here for some time. Included are about 40 new beddings that I actually kinda forgot about until I found the folder I put them in. I also have a mass amount of walls and floors that need to go, so be on the lookout for A LOT of new content.Back On Track
I'm feeling a bit better and have started uploading my Victorian Interior walls again. I sat here at the computer all day and just made new walls and floors. My husband probably thinks I have some form of OCD where Sims paint colors are concerned. I know it's not necessary to have every color fathomable, but I like having tons to choose from (even if I tend to use the same ones over and over).I also have several new houses available. Which has yielded a new "garage wall" set. Not only have I taken a liking to build houses at odd angles, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to make a side garage. (Yes, I've downloaded and printed the tutorial here are TSR, and I still don't get it.) One day I'll sit down and try it again, but for now I'll use my faux garage wall. I don't think anyone has yet figured out how to place garage doors on a diagonal anyway, so I'm clear in that department.
Sickness invades/Uploads cease
As usual, I've pushed myself too hard and am now sick. I have Lupus, which when I'm at my worst, it really takes it's toll. I'll still be working on new uploads, but between that and homeschooling the children, it may take some time to get everything up that I've finished. Those of you who had requested items from me... I'll send them to you by the end of the week. After that, I don't know that I'll be taking anymore requests for a while. Sorry pals and gals, I just don't have the energy.
