From the 1960's Gothic Soap Opera DARK SHADOWS comes Willie Loomis. Willie is played by veteran stage, screen and TV actor John Karlen. The best word to describe Willie Loomis is Loser. He is arrogant, a drifter, thief, mooch and self-appointed ladies man. He invites himself to Collinwood with, so called, Collins family friend Jason McGuire, who goes there on what he calls personal business. Willie becomes fascinated with the portrait of Barnabas Collins, and learns from the housekeeper that deceased family members were buried with their jewels. It looks like an easy fortune for Willie and he goes to the Collins Family Mausoleum. While trying to break open a crypt, he unexpectedly opens a secret chamber. Entering he finds a coffin bound in chains. Using hammer and chisel he breaks the chains and forces open the coffin. What is inside is far from the fortune that Willie expects.

Note: In the Everyday Wear screen shot, the portrait of Barnabas Collins that is over the fireplace was pasted there by me after the screen shot was taken. As far as I know its not available anywhere in a Sims 3 download. I have to learn to make cc pictures :) Also, the screen shot showing the Formalwear was taken inside the new Le Cinema Plumbob available from the EA Sims3 Store.

About John Karlen and the story of Willie Loomis...

As Willie opens the coffin, a hand reaches forth and grabs his throat. It is Barnabas Collins, released from his 171 year imprisonment. He bites Willie on the wrist, putting him under his control. Willie becomes Barnabas' servant, bound to protect the vampire from all harm. He single handedly restores the Old House, now in shambles, to Barnabas' specifications. Being under his control has a humbling effect on Willie, as everyone notices. Willie, though afraid of Barnabas, stands up to him and becomes the voice of conscience, especially when Barnabas abducts Maggie Evans to replace his lost Josette. Knowing Barnabas may kill him, Willie helps her escape. Their Master/servant relationship over time becomes a life long friendship, spanning years past Barnabas' cure from vampirism.

John Karlen made his acting debut on the "Kraft Television Theater" in 1957 at the age of 24. He made his stage debut in the play "Sweet Bird of Youth" in 1959. Over the next seven years he would continue to appear in many TV shows and stage productions. In 1967 he was called on by Dan Curtis to take the role of Willie Loomis on the Gothic Soap Opear DARK SHADOWS. In an interview he joked about how tabus of the time would not allow the show to have Barnabas bite him on the neck. Karlen stayed with DARK SHADOWS for the remainder of the series. Like his fellow cast members he played many related roles, those being Carl Collins, Desmond Collins and Kendrick Young. He made his film debut in "Night of Dark Shadows". After the show ended he went on to appear in many films, on stage and guest star on a great many TV shows. In the most recent past John Karlen has been best known for his role of Harvey Lacey on the TV show "Cagney and Lacey" starring Tyne Daley and Sharon Gless. He won an Emmy Award for his role as Harvey Lacey. Most recently he has once again played Willie Loomis. Joining Lara Parker and David Selby in the DARK SHADOWS audio dramas from Big Finish Productions.
