and thank you for the honourable mention!!! When I first read it I couldn't think how since we hadn't talked about Veronika's parents - thanks for explaining! - and then I became distracted with the chapter and forgot!  Also, just read Senja's suggestion about VS's parents!   Wow! Hadn't thought of that!... "Lessons" was hilarious! If only frustrated teachers everywhere could hurl heavy dense objects at their unmotivated students! (On second thought, considering that I might be one of those students! ) I can imagine a whole tradition passed on from teacher to teacher with a progression to some potentially lethal objects! Then Esobel and Reosin's exchange was very cute. Kudos to Reosin for using Lei-Minh as an element of surprise! Good ending too to see what's happening with Kiyana and Deyon!

LOL! As soon as I finished the latest chapter of VS, I was about to complain the chapter was too short considering it was an anniversary and everything. But when I scrolled back to the beginning to read it again, I realized that it was the same length as all the other chapters. It just read so well! Even after 20 years, Veronika's loss is still so significant. It was so great to peek into her life as a child with her family. It really helps give some more insight into her character and the loss she still feels as an adult. I hope she realizes her parents would be so proud of how she turned out. Happy anniversary, Judi!

Oh, gee. Then it has to be me. I can be really dense a lot of the time. I always seem to miss the obvious!  And don't pressure yourself about the anniversary! It should totally be a fun thing for you as it's such a great milestone/occasion! And yes, Nikholy and Lei-Minh look too cute together! I knew it since Nikholy first dropped his jaw at the sight of her! I forgot to say that I LOVE her dress! The colours and the pattern and style. It looks Merindylian (sp?) but with an Oraylian flare (as if I know what either is! LOL)! Have a mahvelous week!!!

Hi! Your chapters aren't confusing! I meant that I'm not sure who Deyon's obsessing about in Chapter 5 and why he got so touchy in the last chapter. But that's b/c it's supposed to be ambiguous, right? And a little confusion is good. Better than being spoonfed and is like a cliffhanger in that it drives the reader to read on. (Well, that's what I do when I like the story/characters!) I thnk it's pretty cool how you've plotted this out years ago and can still feel the original inspiration to write it out! Here's more comments for the recent chapter: I really liked how Nikholy and Lei-Minh are the old-fashioned romantic couple who are shy and maybe courting. Both of them seem to be somewhat sheltered and Nikholy admitted he hasn't dated anyone yet. (Plus, with the outtakes it looks like the set-up for a screwball romantic comedy! ) (Oooh, plus with Oraylia in the middle of the war, it'll be interesting how that affects the relationship!) I also liked how Deyon didn't take advantage of Kiyana and how Kiyana didn't get what she wanted. It'll be interesting to see if she becomes a woman scorned with a sword? Does she have a tender and bruised heart or will she harden her heart or...? Those two moments (plus wondering who Deyon is crushing on) are what I took away from the chapter and am wondering about until Veronika's anniversary stuff comes out.

Thank you for pointing to chapter 5! I think I missed that one! (I don't know how!!!) That sort of cleared things up and confused me at the same time! LOL It totally adds a lot to Deyon's character for me! The outtakes of Nikholy and the Oraylian princess are too funny!! Especially the eyerolls! But I love how you're mixing romance (misfires et al) with war. These are young people in a do or die situation! Of course, my favourite part is how Esobel makes a cameo appearance and exit! Also, congrats on Veronika's one-year anniversary!

Ooooh! I LOVE Storm-Chasers !!! Totally suits the series more as they do sort of look for stormy situations to suss out and solve. I also love the thought of a pack of Storm-Chasers running around and causing a whole lot of mischief at school, at home, at the world at large, on your banner... So cutE!!!!! Even if they get married and become an old married couple, I totally think the series could still be exciting! Although you as a writer and sim-master would have a whole lot more to deal with, say if they had like 5kids like Mattie did!!!! Have a super week/end!!!!

LOL Yes, VS day like V day , like VJ day , like VE day . (So I'm hoping for a victorious ending! ) I love SB's comment: "But it says something about her. Finding clarity in noise." Very cool (and maybe a coping strategy? :confused Also, I read Rob's comment about Perry and it makes sense! (Although i never would have thought that! Kind of cool how that screen could be 'read' as past and present!) Love the new avatar! And also the Merindylen banner (which I just noticed last week)! Also, if VS ever needed a name for a fan club, I just thought of a possibility: Storm-watch !

I LOVED your comments on Deyon! He's really flushing out to be a different and interesting character. I can totally see how Reosin would like Nikholy to learn a thing or two from Deyon. Ironic though if Deyon didn't think Nikholy was throne-worthy though! Oh, I guessed that Kiyana is crushing on either Nikholy or Deyon. (OMG I just had a weird thought that it's Vasiily!! Awkward! ) It occurred to me too that there could be one-way crushes going on too (Nikholy on Oraylian princess-Kiyana on Nikholy-Deyon on Kiyana) but my head started to hurt once I took a step in that direction! Actually my head hurts with the Deyon possibilities too! LOL Only one more day till VS day ! Have an awesome week!

Holy blush-to-the-roots-of-my-fur, that was an amazing song of praise on Flip(5), thank you so much for that!!!  I'd been struggling with the scripting of this one for so long, I had no idea what effect it would have on the readers once I finally went with it... as far as fans of Danielle go.  As I believe you can see, the story has now flipped to the adult side of nearly every odd bit mentioned in Tales from the Cribts, as intended... just one really major flashback to go... ((the final episode in this series is called 6: Ground Zero ))  Thank you again for your wonderful feedback

Great Merindylen updates! All of the sneak peeks: unrequited romance (I've narrowed my guesses to two!), mystery pasts (I wonder how/if that will come into play in the future), Deyon's strategic outlook on the situation... I like how he thinks differently! He picked the side that would save everyone's way of life rather than blind patriotism! Also, I like how he isn't slavishly fawning over Nikholy. Rather, Nikholy has to prove himself to the nation at large! Also, a new cast in the new year! Very cool!

Oh, I don't know how you answer without giving anything away! Your answers are very satisfying - giving a little detail or insight without revealing anything pertinent to the plot - which is another reason why I like to read the comments. Oh I agree with the comment about how sympathetic Aaron is. It's so easy to be judgemental or overly sympathetic for his character but I think you achieved the right balance and led us along the right labyrinth to experience a whole range of reactions about Aaron! Loved your last comment too about the photo! I'd forgotten since I'd been caught up in the latest cliffie! Have a glorious weekend!

LOL@ 'but I do appreciate that it was an inconvenient spot for those who are reading.' Don't you dare change your ways either! Oh, I love reading your comments too as well as the comments of others! There's so much going on in your stories to support a speculative feeding frenzy! It's great to read hints and 'I wonder if 's and 'uh-oh I think this is going to happen ' even if they don't happen. Oh, and I love that theme that not everyone is as perfect as they appear! All of these revelations are not just new tidbits of info carelessly tossed in but impact the story and other characters in so many ways! It's like the ripple effect when someone casts a stone into water...and then another! There's this chaotic pattern distorting the surface but at the same time there's this mathematical wave pattern that is orderly and perfect transforming the surface's reflection into something strange and wonderful. LOVE it!

Oooooh! It's getting revved up now!! I didn't think the latest chapter of VS was text heavy at all! It's cool how you put everything in its place, explaining this, revealing that, tying up all the loose ends...leading us to the logical question that Perry asked...and then wham! Veronika has it all figured out and it's not 'Who' but 'Why'... Fin! Aaaagggh!!! I needed more text ! I really love how you revealled that bit about Perry too who looks like he's perfect from a perfect world and then we find out he's not. But at least he has Rob and the Chases in his life now. Thanks for the fix!

Another great chapter! Although my mind is really focused on the end (even though the first part was racier! Good on Esobel for being able to draw Reosin out) because I'm confused about why Nikholy and Deyon are going back to the castle?!?! I'll have to stay tuned to find out! and I love that comment you made about whether Deyon feels the same way as Nikholy. I'm o glad you did that! If Deyon's been a loner thus far, it makes sense he wouldn't change much. Then again...I can't really assume too much with your stories! also loved that bit about how it's like Nephrim is speaking a different language when he talks about magick and stuff. Is that just b/c of the magickal jargon or is it b/c the Maje cultural language and way of thinking is so entwined with how magick works in your world? (Although maybe not since humans like Ekraine can do magick!) Anyhow, thank you so much!
