(I know it's a long description T-T if you don't want to know how these eyes are born/don't create eyes feel free to ignore it.)
So, one day I decided to look at TS4 eyes' tags that show up in S4S when you do replacement/add new swatches. What I've noticed is that not all the tags are used by the game and other tags have more than one swatch. I thought, why not trying to cover all the swatches considering real eye colors? So I've made my research and noticed that not all of those tags are "real" eye colors but also none of them are referring to unnatural eye colors. So I've started to create base swatches according to tags names and references (all the eyes are the same but with different colors, this means no different iris texture for each swatch).
I ended up with these realistic swatches: black, dark brown, brown, light brown, amber, hazel, green, hazel green, light green, blue, hazel blue, light blue, aqua, gray. In order to make a complete override (and don't lose Red and Violet) I added four unrealistic colors: gold, red, pink, purple.
How they WORK: this is a complete override, this means that with them in your Mods folder you'll never see EA default eyes. Genetics: I don't know if genetic is determined just by tags or other (more complicated) thing in game, anyway I tagged them in a way that genetic should work more or less realistic and like the game. I've just tested them in CAS but from what I've seen if you have parents with brownish eyes, the kids will always have brownish eyes; if you have parents with light eyes, kids will always have light eyes; if one parent has hazel eyes, the kids could have hazel related eyes (hazel green/blue) and viceversa (it should work like this, at least); if a parent have one of the four unrealistic eye colors (for example gold), the kids could have gold/red/pink/purple eyes (unrealistic colors are disabled for random).
IMPORTANT: due to the fact that these don't follow EA palette, some premade Sims and known NPCs could have different eye colors from what you're used to see (for example, in my first trial version, Caleb Vatore ended up with gold eyes (it was still cute!)). In this final version I've tried to override similar colors, but some issues could still exist. (the inverse situation can happen too if you have made sims with this override and then remove it).
As always, amazing brushes provided by ObsidianDawn!
If nothing changes in TS4 behaviour, every eyes I will create named "Real+Un" will have this color palette, this genetic and this kind of override.
I know the name is unusual considering the other creations I've made, but it's the only word I had in mind watching at them.
Choker, earrings and septum by me (published). Lipstick by me (personal use).
Again, sorry for the longest description I've ever made xD
