IMHO, this is one of the most attractive homes on this site -- and you have some pretty tough competition. My current sims family is living in a heavily revised version of this home. However, I just spent hours retrofitting a garage and basement to the home. At this price level, a home without a basement and a garage is seriously defective. Leaving a garage out of a home is as serious a faux pax as building a home without bedrooms -- the garage is the bedroom for the sims' most expensive possession - their cars. A basement is incredibly nice as a rec room, especially when space is as tight as it is in this home. I also managed to add an additional bedroom and an additional bath. It's a very nice home, but it really requires some major surgery to make it functional.
