...New city living comes in an old refurbished building to TSR for your Sims! Introducing the City Street Apartments! Formerly the City Street Office Building, this iconic 1920s-era landmark downtown was scheduled for demolition but was saved at the last minute by land developers who wanted to turn it into apartments. The architects, siblings Sim & Simona Simon, replaced the windows and doors, added new interior walls, completely removed the interior stairs, and built over the original stair shaft, which was in the middle of the building. Then, they removed the brick walls near the front, to "bring more of the outside in", and added spiral stairs beside the original elevator, which they kept (after the engineers completely restored and repaired it, of course) in the same location. The stairs go up one level more than the elevator to a helipad and a public telescope, both on the roof. The response by the Sim public was met with critical acclaim. The eight floors, originally seperate, were integrated into four 2-story apartments each. If you choose, your Sims can purchase any apartment furnished (save for the loft and bedrooms). Bohemian and Tech Sims reportedly are salivating at living in these spacious apartments, though the Bohemian Sims have criticized adding a helipad. "We wanted the building to keep a quiet, simple, laid-back style, which suited our lifestyles", one said. The Tech Sims, however, favored the helipad, which added "A modern element to the building", as well as "Get us to where we work quickly." It was decided that the helipad would also draw the Jocks, Gearheads, and against hope, possibly a Socialite Sim or two (it was rumored the Socialites were behind saving the building to keep the "riff-raff" downtown in their "own spot", and away from their neighborhoods).
