how do you do this look that you can see on the second floor? when i build a room like this, my sim looks up into the open sky and the 2nd floor is not visible. is it some kind of loft?

For some reasons, my sim cannot enter through the front door. I have tried leveling the terrain, moving her out of the cell and moving her back in, restarting the game. I finally got inside the house through the garage, but my sim still will not use the front door.\:\(
