Beaurepaire was once a tyre warehouse and retail outlet. A savvy conversion has turned it into a special family home.

There have been few alterations to the basic structure - the main one being the removal of a monster neon sign which had pride of place on the narrow 'wing' atop the building; as well as signage of various sorts on lower levels. Windows and doors have been moved/added to accommodate the new interior setup.

This new version comprises 4 levels, although the topmost one is basically access to the roof, where there is an astronomer's telescope. Within the three main floors, there are 2 bedrooms and 2-1/2 baths.

The ground level [level 1]l has the intensive traffic areas - kitchen, livingroom with TV and a foyer/reception lounge. Although these are all self-contained spaces, careful positioning of glass in walls and doors gives a pleasing impression of connectivity - an in-wall aquarium is a special feature. An open-air spa deck/BBQ area, which could be utilised as an outdoor livingroom, is accessed via the kitchen. Huge decorated urns planted with bamboo, decorate the street entrance, the sun terrace and the spa deck.

Level 2: Master suite with own bath, a second double bedroom, the main family bathroom - plus a large sittingroom with bar, bookshelves and comfortable seating.

Level 3 has been given over to artistic pursuits. There is a sculpting studio and a separate artist's work area - with all the necessary tools and accessories. . . and a number of finished works for inspection in the gallery immediately off the stairs. Here also is entry to a sun terrace, complete with plants, cushioned loungers, heat lamps for
those slightly chilly days . . . and a small water feature. A stair leads up to the [previously mentioned] observation deck on the roof.
